I opened and envelop ... and a bunch of butterflies came out of it =D

Some weeks ago, Simone sent a parcel for me. Mails from/to Brazil always take weeks to arrive and this time we had a world record !  More than 5 weeks to arrive here ...
We even really thought it was lost =(
But no !!!! what a shame it would have been !!!!
Simone had this wonderful bookmark made for me by a friends of hers ! I love it
And everything that was in the parcel I love !

The hanging says that 'The secret is not to run after the butterflies, it is to take care of the garden so that they come to you'... so lovely
Thousands of thanks Simone, and I hope you'll stay for long a butterfly in my garden =D
Obrigada sweetie, from the bottom of my heart.

After the butterflies, tapestries...
During the vacations, on our road to Normandy, we stopped at Bayeux for a day.
Maybe some of you (or everybody) knows about the Bayeux Tapestry...
If not and if you want to know more you can go here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayeux_Tapestry
Very impressive part of history and a real amazing piece of embroidery !
Can you imagine it measures nearly 70 meters !!
It is behind a window to protect it and we have an audio tape narrating the story for each scene
Here is a picture I found on the internet

It was totally forbidden to take pictures inside, but really it worth the trip !!!
Especially for people like us !  The ancestor of what we all do =D
We didn't make a lot a of pictures that day, except the cathedral which was really like the one of Canterbury, and some shops windows that I found cute =)
But I had to show what I brought from Bayeux...tapestries of course =D

The first one is a 'real' part of the Bayeux tapestry , The 3 trees (try to say this several times and very quickly , worst than the girl who sells sea shells on the seashore =D)
Hubby chose this design =)
And I totally felt in love with the 2nd one, because of the design and the colours of course
I will have to remind all the different stitches because I never did Bayeux stitch or all the other stitches directly linked to the Bayeux tapestry, I hope I'll succeed and make 2 great pieces
It's my challenge for 2013 =D
If needed I can call or mail the very kind woman who was selling them and who really took the time to show me how to do
If you want to see more you can go here www.bayeux-broderie.com

That's all for today
Next time stitches...I promise =D
