Hello the world =)
Yesterday we were expecting big storms, but finally Summer stays as it was, no rain, only great wind and a grey sky (almost black ! ) and today it's still very hot !!
I must admit I don't like heat, especially when 3 days before there was 15° less !
Can't adapt myself !
But I won't complain, I asked so much for Summer to come back =)
Our garden is becoming more and more a garden (I have to show you pictures I know....) and we have a new inhabitant...
It's Mario =D
Yes, yesterday was Marie day so...Mario.....
isn't he too cute =D
He was a bit afraid and I had to take this bad picture with my phone , but we can see anyway that he is cute =)
I hope he will stay with us ! A real hedgehog in my garden =D
Let's speak about cross stitches now =D
You maybe remember the 'order' I had, the Taylor of Gloucester from Beatrix Potter... so here he is , on his bobbin , my cute first Beatrix Potter stitching =D
The young lady who will receive it this afternoon (I hope she will love !) will have her bedroom decorate in August in a new way, and she chose blue colours, with Toile de Jouy on some walls .... then I found that this fabric I had was perfect for my finish.
My finish...yes, I know....Super Hubby's finish =D
He used lace, ribbon, 2 different fabrics, 2 buttons and decorated a cardboard box in (I find but I should not because it's my hubby who did it) a WONDERFUL way =D
Thank you hubby ♥
Once again he said that it's a piece it will be difficult for me to give =D
I have other things ready to show you, but it will be for another post =)
I just leave saying that I participated to a competition organised by Craftseller magazine on Facebook and I WON !!
I won 2 tickets for a craft show in England , only 45mn driving after the crossing, at Bluewater , 2nd weekend of September
I'm so happy ! I made a real happy dance yesterday =)
Will tell you more about this when I receive my tickets =D
Happy stitching

I wanted something 'romantic' =)
The young lady was soooooooooooo happy yesterday that she had tears in her eyes

What a nice box with a little cute mouse.:) You can offer your garden visitor a treat of cat food and water. No milk, as milk will slowly kill it !
RépondreSupprimerMany thanks Olli =)
SupprimerI was inspired by what you did for Noni, hehehehe =D
But my box is in cardboard, not in wood
Mum told me exactly the same thing about the garden visitor =D
'absolutely no milk honey, or he will have pain in his belly' =)
Don't want to kill my cute Mario
big hugs

Such an adorable finish, Valerie! You are so lucky to have a husband who enjoys finishing as much as you do stitching--what a great team :) The box will look perfect in your young friend's blue themed room!
RépondreSupprimerHave a lovely time at the craft show in England in September. That is so neat that you can get there so quickly!!
Many thanks Carol =)
SupprimerIndeed, I'm very lucky with my crafty hubby =)
he is soooooo patient !!!!
my young lady was over the moon (is that a right expression ?) , she made a real happy dance, she had stars in her eyes and couldn't believe what she was seeing =)
she was very very happy ! I already had great reactions to what I offered but this happiness and way to thank me comes in first =D
From here to London with the crossing it's only less than 3 hours...so great =)
I'll tell everything here about that craft show =)

Ohhhh I'm late here!! Only now reading this post and seeing another beautiful work =)))) How precious!!! Your box looks just perfect sweetie! Amazing work, beautiful details :)
RépondreSupprimerI'm here clapping my hands!!! I love it, love it, love it :D
Ok.. now go back and give my words to your DH!! hahahah It was all him? Did you pick the things and asked him how you'd like? Or was all his idea? I can see you two are a really great team ;) usually Rui helps me to decide between two things but we doesn't make the piece.. your hubby needs to teach Rui ;) hahahhahah
Congrats to both of you, looks beautiful!!! :)
Wow! I hope you won't addopt that little guy as your pet! ahhahaahah :p
The weather around here it's weird too =/ It's kind of hot but not sunny... not those beautiful sunny days with a blue sky! Instead, we have grey sky, dark days, it's hot but not as hot as it could be at this time of the year! Well, you already know I love some summer heat ;) heheheh But I'm missing those beautiful summer days with a blue and clear sky :p I think we had prettier days last autumn!! LOL
Once again, congrats for your win!!! I'm happy for you!!! :D
I'll be here waiting to read about the craft show on your blog ;)
Have a great weekend sweetie!! :)
Many many thanks sweetie =)
Supprimercomments are never too long
My young Lady Marie had about the same reaction as you when I offered her the box =D
hehehehe
she seemed not to realise what she was seeing !! then made a happy dance , had stars in her eyes, was over the moon, shouted, almost cried and made me a hug that has almost made me vanished =D
She was really happy, then I was too
she showed me the wall paper she was going to use in her bedroom , and the paint, and the accessories she already has....indeed, this box would be perfect =)
I first thought a young girl would not love the lace but it was the contrary !!! even her two friends who were there had tears in her eyes and looked at me seeming to say 'ho please, can I have one too ?' =D
Regarding the fabrication of this box now...I always say here that in our team, I'm the brain and hubby is the hands =D
hehehehe
but often it a real team work ! 50/50
I made the stitching, hubby said 'you have to make something useful with this cute mouse'...then we chose the box
I chose the fabrics but he chose the ribbon and the lace in my drawer ! he was the one who was immediately convinced that Marie would love the lace and that it would be great on the box...He was right !
I must admit he very often has good ideas and has taste for those kind of things. He has the great capacity to 'enter' people mind to know what would please them most !
and even if he does something that doesn't personally pleases him , he does it with care and patience =)
at the end he said 'I find this box IS really too rococo' =D
but added 'Marie will love it, great job ' !
hoooo my I'm writing answers longer than your comments now hehehehe =D
Big hugs
going to read all the blogs now

RépondreSupprimerWOW I have seen some wonderful things in your blog:
Mario is adorable;
The mouse of Beatrix Potter is wonderful
and your garden is coming really well.
My mom has been operated, all right. Only that rehabilitation
will be long.
ciao Giovanna
Many thanks Giovanna =D
SupprimerMario seems to be the real incarnation of the mice and hedgehogs I stitch =D
Beatrix Potter designs are really cute and I enjoyed stitching this mouse
moreover, the reaction I got when I offered it was so great ! Marie was sooooo happy ! I got the biggest hug ever received =D
I'm happy to learn your Mum's operation was OK. Indeed, rehabilitation is very long in those cases, but I'm sure everything will be OK and that she is strong
