I've been RAKed ...

...ou en français j'ai été RAKée ce qui a au final encore moins de signification pour les non initiés =)
explications donc !
Il y a quelques fois les Giveaways , les sortes de 'concours' auxquels on s’inscrit pour avoir la chance de gagner le cadeau mis en jeu via un commentaire qu'on laisse sur le blog concerné...
Et puis il y a les RAK , en anglais Random Act of Kindness , plus ou moins un acte de gentillesse distribué au hasard qui consiste à choisir une personne et lui envoyer des cadeaux, juste comme ça, pour lui faire plaisir , sans qu'elle ne s'y attende
C'est qui m'est arrivé, j'ai été RAKée =)

 Lynn, en Angleterre, qui fait des choses superbes, a décidé de m'envoyer des petits cadeaux juste comme ça, pour me faire plaisir et ça a marché !!
Déjà j'ai presque eu du mal à ouvrir le paquet tellement bien préparé.
La carte faite main comportait à l'intérieur des mots très gentils et accompagnait 3 superbes cadeaux que voici que voilà....

Un collier avec une miniature de broderie représentant une théière, je vous assure, c'est tout petit !
Une coussin à aiguille au crochet et un petit ornement avec de la broderie très fine et des perles...le tout dans mes couleurs =D
Magnifique !
C'est qui la grosse veinarde ?? =D
Mille mercis encore à Lynn pour cette très belle surprise

I made a small explanation in the French part of what a RAK is, but I'm quite sure that in this part of my post, the title explains everything...that I'm a very happy lucky girl and that North of France is still echoing the endless WOW I shouted yesterday =D
I've been RAKed by Lynn at Happiness is Cross Stitching.
Ho yes you can say it too , wow =)
Lynn always creates wonderful things that I each time admire on her blog...and I'm the (very very very) lucky recipient of one of her first RAK this year....
I first didn't dare to open the beautiful package Lynn made... I had to take a picture of it !
But I must confess, I didn't hesitate long =)
And what a surprise in the parcel, 3 over beautiful pieces with which I immediately felt in love =)

A necklace with a tiny (believe me, it's tiny !) stitched tea-pot, a crocheted pincushion and an ornament with an incredibly small embroidery on it !
So you agree now ? WOW =)
The handmade card is also filled with kind words that touched my heart  ♥
And of course everything in the colours that I love ...

Once again Lynn (yes I already sent a crazy mail yesterday =D) , thousands of thank you for all those gifts that I absolutely love and will treasure.
You made my day and I'm very very very happy.
I raise my glass to our friendship wishing it lasts forever, you know what I mean ;)

I'll continue my day with stars in my eyes and as the sun is here today too it's going to be another beautiful day.

Les 3 derniers !

L'an passé j'ai commencé une série de 12 moutons que j'avais décidé de terminer en dessous de verre.
Il en restait 3 à faire , que j'ai brodés en ce début d'année et terminés la semaine dernière =)
Voici donc les 3 dernières vertus , Gratitude, Kindness et Joyfulness :

Mon projet d'une année aura un peu débordé sur 2 années mais en même temps je n'étais pas pressé, même si je suis bien contente de les avoir tous !
Mes pièces de printemps avancent à petits pas, pas aussi vite que je le voudrais mais j'avance bien par contre sur le projet pour les petits pieds portugais qui vont bientôt arriver alors ça c'est parfait =)

Maybe you remember that last year I started my 'one year project' with the 12 sheep virtues by LHN.
If not, or if you arrived after dear new readers, follow me, it's here =)
3 were left and I finished them this year, even last week only !
Gratitude, Kindness and Joyfulness have joined the set of coasters I decided as the finish for those lovely sheep.

I'm very happy with those coasters, even if it took more than one year to gather them all. Only 2 months more, not a disaster =)
Besides those sheep my pieces for the Spring shelf are slowly progressing...but never mind, Spring seems not to be for now finally ! 
We no more have tempests but days are still very rainy and cold !
Spring pieces are progressing slowly but I'm well progressing on my secret project for the little Portuguese feet that are about to arrive, and that sounds perfect to me =D

Boites à lunettes

Mes petits bonhommes SODA ont eu beaucoup de succès...on dirait que ça va être difficile de faire mieux =)
Et pourtant ...
La suite des révélations des dernières pièces de l'an passé se fait avec le cadeau de noël pour les parents =)
Maman collectionne les chouettes, il leur fallait à tous les 2 un petit étui à lunettes pour la table de chevet, alors hop hop hop notre équipe a travaillé sur la question =)
D'abord les chouettes, 4 en tout, 2 pour chacun :

L'objet en bois à décorer n'étant pas très large, il a fallu trouver de toutes petites chouettes.
Mais quel était-il cet objet en bois ?
Un pot à crayon :)

Décoré aux couleurs de la chambre, ajout de feutrine à l'intérieur pour protéger les lunettes, et puis aussi une petite cordelette et un bouton, et voilà le résultat 

OK on ne voit pas le bouton sur cette photo, mais il y est...il est là....
Encore un chouette travail réalisé avec Super Moitié =)

My cute SODA fellows had a great success here, it seems difficult to do better =D
But let's try.... and let me show you the gifts we made for my parents at Christmas...
Mum collects owls, and both her and Dad were needed something to store their glasses on the bedside table.
So without a second thought, our team started to think at those special and unique glasses cases we could do =D
First the owls, very small one to enter the 'mount'

And what about the glasses case itself ? 
A simple wooden  pens holder =D
Super half painted it in the colours of my parents bedroom, added felt inside to protect the glasses, a ribbon, a button....

And here are the unique glasses cases that are now on my parents bedside tables...
Don't you find it's another wonderf'owl work by our team ? =D 
Mum found :)

I hope everybody is safe with that so crazy winter we are now having !
Last tempest here was on Friday and we really hope that it was the last and that Spring will come soon.
Fortunately we don't live close to water !

Accro au SODA

...mais au SODA stitch biensur :)
Isabella en a contaminé plus d'une avec ces petites broderies Nippones, mais il faut avouer qu'elles sont trop craquantes...
L'an dernier je me suis lancée et j'en ai fait 3 !
C'est plus que craquer, c'est devenue une vraie addiction...
Je sais, ce n'est qu'aujourd'hui que je les dévoile...mais mieux vaut tard que jamais =)
La première était I'll protect you

Ces deux compères en costume de dinosaure ont terminé sur une boite que Super Moitié a peinte à l'aérographe.
Quelques chutes de feutrine à l'intérieur et elle renferme  maintenant les boutons que j'appelle 'à thème'. (fleurs, papillons...)

La seconde c'est  A date with a wolf.
Trop craquante non ? =)
Les demi-points et le point arrière sur de la toile aïda c'est touffu mais je m'en suis finalement bien sortie.

Je crois même que c'est ma préférée pour le moment.
Celle là je la voulais dans mon coin couture, alors Super moitié m'en a fait une pendouille en feutrine...en forme de pomme...histoire de bien suivre avec la broderie. Il a ajouté un petit bouton en bois qu'il a peint lui même =)

La 3ème s'appelle A flying pony, et a été faite en cadeau de Noël pour petite Anna qui avait fait dans l'automne sa lettre à Santa Cross (j'adore toujours autant le jeu de mot Juju =D) en précisant qu'elle souhaitait un petit coussin pour mettre à sa porte ou à sa fenêtre de chambre...

...mais c'est un peu comme les sachets senteur qui finissent en sacoche de portable, le petit coussin de porte a terminé ce jour là en sac à main...je sais maintenant ce qu'il me reste à faire pour le prochain cadeau à cette adorable enfant =)
Quoiqu'il en soit, je sens qu'en 2014 il y aura d'autre SODA...

I'm now addicted to SODA..but SODA stitch of course =)
Isabella contaminated many of us with those adorable Japanese designs and I'm one of them...
But we must admit that they are really adorable, easy & quick to stitch...perfect then !
I made 3 last year (I know, I'm only showing them to you today, but better late than never...) so I think I'm really addicted =)
The first one was I'll protect you, 2 cute fellows in dino costumes who ended on a wooden box that Super Half painted for me. He added some felt losses in the compartments and I'm now storing my 'special buttons' in it (flowers, butterflies, charms...)

I'm absolutely in love with this box =)
The second one was A date with a wolf, I think that for the moment, it's my favourite !
As I wanted it in my craft room too, Super Half acted again and as you surely saw it above, made me a felt ornament that perfectly suits with the stitching ... an apple =D
He added a small wooden button he also painted.
Isn't it cute ?

And the third was A flying pony that I made for Baby Anna as her Christmas gift.
During Autumn she wrote her letter to Santa Cross (so funny) saying she wanted a little pillow to hang at her bedroom door or window...

 
But it seems that doorknob pillows are like scented bags which end in phone case ... as Anna hold it almost the whole day as a handbag !
I guess it means 'Auntie, you know what I want for my next gift' =D
Anyway, I'm sure now that there will be more SODA pieces this year...I already have an idea for the Summer seasonal shelf...

Un weekend avec les Compagnons

Pas de croix aujourd'hui, juste un petit aperçu de mon weekend passé avec les Compagnons du Tir à l'Arc de Liévin, pour l'organisation du championnat départemental.
Deux jours épuisants mais comme toujours très intéressants...en plus c'est un de nos archers qui a terminé premier sur le podium dans sa catégorie =)

J'ai rencontré mon premier arc il y a maintenant 20 ans lors d'un voyage au Canada...
J'ai arrêté le tir il y a 8 ans mais je continue à faire partie de la vie du club dont je suis restée secretaire.
Peut être qu'un jour je ressortirai mon arc...c'est ce que je dis tous les ans =)

Fini le blason classique que tout le monde connait , on est sur ce que l'on appelle un trispot, trois spots alignés , équivalents aux zones centrales du blason de 40 ou 60 cm de diamètre selon la catégorie.
Seule la catégorie dite Bare Bow, arc nu, sans viseur, tire encore sur le blason classique de 40cm de diamètre.

Arc classique ou arc à poulies, ici en salle on est à 18 mètres de sa cible.
Difficile de prendre de bonnes photos pendant les tirs. Biensur le flash est interdit pour ne pas perturber les archers et évidemment se mettre en face d'eux relève du suicide =D

2 séries de 10 volées de 3 flèches , avec en moyenne 2 minutes par volée (temps réglementaire) ...le qualificatif a pris une bonne partie de la journée avant de passer aux phases finales,  les duels, pour déterminer les champions départementaux de chaque catégorie !
Un weekend vraiment bien rempli...

...pour un très beau sport.
La prochaine fois on parlera quand même broderie =)

As I told you my last weekend have been very busy, and today I'm sharing with you one of my other hobby...Archery =D
I have been belonging to Les Compagnons du Tir à l'Arc for 20 years now !
I 'met' my first bow during a trip to Canada and at my return began a great story =)
I love this beautiful sport even if for health reasons I had to stop 8 years ago and never came back to it. I always belonged to the life of the club as the secretary and made great friendships.

Things changed a bit in 20 years, starting by the target. It's now what we call a trispot (don't know how it is named in English...) but it's only the central zones of a usual target (points from 1 to 4 usually in the white & black rings are useless in this kind of championship)
Only the Bare Bows (without sight) can shoot on the usual target of 40cm diameter.

Maybe you have good eyes and can see the tinny X in the very inner ring used for the tie-breaking. The closer to the X is the winner =)
For this indoors , archers are at 18 meters from their target. A/B shoot first, then C/D to not have too numerous archers at the same time.
2 successions of 10 ends of 3 arrows. 2 minutes per end...the 2 successions last about 3 hours =)

This was only the qualifying round, after we had the regional championship , the duels, to determine the champion for each category. In the Junior Man Recurved Bow category , Bastien from my club ended first =D

The bows changed too !
On the first pictures you saw recurved bows, with all the accessories , we are far from the piece of wood with a cord =)
Here under Compound Bows, designed to reduce the force required to bend the string

It's difficult to take good pictures of this sport . The light is not too strong , flash is forbidden of course to not disturb the archers and we can just stay behind them =)
But I hope I gave you a good overview of my other hobby...

Sachets senteur

Il me reste des pièces de l'an passé à montrer ici...
Et comme une très ressemblante a été faite et offerte pour noël je profite ... je rattrape mon retard et j'en regroupe 3 =)
Ce sont des petits sachets senteur, prévu pour mettre de la lavande, mais comme les 2 personnes qui les ont reçus en cadeau ne sont pas fan de lavande il y aura autre chose dedans, après tout chacun fait ce qu'il veut avec son cadeau =)

Les 2 premiers étaient pour la maman de Super Moitié cet été.
J'ai récidivé avec la fleur de Digoin, à laquelle j'ai ajouté l'initiale du prénom de Belle Maman :

Il va falloir que je me refasse un petit stock de ce tissu qui suit si bien avec ces fleurs parce que j'ai l'intention de faire quelques pièces pour ma cuisine cette année =)

Le second vient d'une grille dessinée par Maja, de The Snowflower Diaries.
Plusieurs amies sur la blogosphere l'ont brodée et voici ma version de Lavender Girl sur du lin violet

Mon premier essai avec des perles à la place des points et ma foi...je suis assez satisfaite =)
De plus ils ont tous deux fait très plaisir, même que l'on m'a dit plusieurs fois que je devrais les vendre ...qui sait...un jour peut être....!
Pour l'instant je veux juste faire plaisir et me faire plaisir...

Le troisième sachet (qui au final semble finir en pochette pour téléphone =D ) a été fait pour ma Grand Mère à noël.
Une petite grille gratuite trouvée au détour du net mais dont je ne retrouve pas la provenance :-/

Je prépare mes petites pièces pour l'étagère de saison et le printemps, et puis le projet secret pour le bébé de Nia qui sera là d'ici un gros mois maintenant...
Mais ce weekend pas de croix c'est certain, championnat départemental au club de tir à l'arc qui risque de me prendre beaucoup de temps et d'énergie...
Mais pas grave, je reviens vite quand même =)

I still have pieces from 2013 to show here ! 
So today I'll catch up and gather 3 pieces ...one of my good resolutions for this year was to update more often here wasn't it ? =D
Last summer I made 2 scented bags for Hubby's mum.
I chose another Fleur de Digoin (by the way...did someone see a plate with this flower hanged on the wall behind Lady Violet in Downtown Abbey ?? I did !! =D ) , a flower then, to which I added the first letter of my MIL's name :

The second bag I made her was with a design from Maja at the Snowflower Diaries 
Lavender Girl that you may have seen here and there on the blogosphere , but here is my version on purple linen and finished as a scented bag =)

First attempt at beading ! I'm happy with the result and have to try this again.
My MIL was very happy, even if she doesn't like lavender either and that she will put something else inside =)
Everybody does what he wants with a gift...
This is how the scented bag hereunder, that I made for my Grand Mother as her Christmas gift, ended as a pocket for her phone =D
I found this freebie on the web long ago, but can't find where right now :-/
I'll search in case someone would like the chart...

I'm now preparing pieces for the seasonal shelf and Spring (you're going to see designs from Maja again...) but obviously , this weekend I won't touch a needle !
I'm organising with my archery club a championship that is going to take all my time and energy...but anyway, I'll be back soon, why not with pictures of the championship =)

Encore des cadeaux....

Noël est reparti dans ses cartons au grenier et va patiemment attendre de revenir l'année prochaine =)
Mais la boite aux lettres, elle,  a continué de se remplir...
Mon échange de Noël avec les fans de Margaret Sherry est (enfin) arrivé...
Enfin parce qu'il aura mis presque un mois  pour venir frapper à la porte, je pensais même que mon Père Noël secret était à l'autre bout du globe...mais pas du tout puisqu'il était en fait en Allemagne !
Voilà donc ce que j'ai reçu de Judith :

Et puisqu'on parle de marque page...j'en avais fait un pour offrir à Noël , pour un fan de BD mais surtout de Tintin... mon parrain  =)

Christmas is now finished, the decorations have gone back in their cardboards (except the seasonal shelf one...it is still winter....) and will patiently wait until next Christmas...
But Mister postman kept continued to be busy and haven't worn off his Santa's costume yet =D
I finally received my Xmas exchange organised on the Margaret Sherry lovers blog....
I say finally because we don't know why it took so long to arrive here as it was 'only' coming from Germany ! 
Another mystery of the post offices !
Anyway, I was very happy to receive this parcel and to open each little wrapping =)
Judith spoiled me with many beautiful goodies and this wonderful stitched piece that she finished as a beautiful basket

A gift even after the date is always a great occasion to do a happy dance =)

As we are speaking about bookmarks, let me show you the one I did for my Godfather as his Xmas gift.
He is a great fan of comics and especially Tintin (just like me, I'm a great fan of Captain Haddock, I don't like comics but Tintin is an exception =D Such an exception that I even have them in English...)

 
Those who know Tintin surely recognise the famous rocket from Explorers on the moon on the first picture.
Here is the  confirmation =)

Before leaving and saying you that I'll be back very soon with other stitches...made for Xmas gifts or not...I want to tell you that sometimes I can't answer you by mail to some comments here, because as some friends already mentioned it , if you have changed to Googgle+ your mail address is now a 'non reply' one in the notifications I receive :-/
