Un weekend avec les Compagnons

Pas de croix aujourd'hui, juste un petit aperçu de mon weekend passé avec les Compagnons du Tir à l'Arc de Liévin, pour l'organisation du championnat départemental.
Deux jours épuisants mais comme toujours très intéressants...en plus c'est un de nos archers qui a terminé premier sur le podium dans sa catégorie =)

J'ai rencontré mon premier arc il y a maintenant 20 ans lors d'un voyage au Canada...
J'ai arrêté le tir il y a 8 ans mais je continue à faire partie de la vie du club dont je suis restée secretaire.
Peut être qu'un jour je ressortirai mon arc...c'est ce que je dis tous les ans =)

Fini le blason classique que tout le monde connait , on est sur ce que l'on appelle un trispot, trois spots alignés , équivalents aux zones centrales du blason de 40 ou 60 cm de diamètre selon la catégorie.
Seule la catégorie dite Bare Bow, arc nu, sans viseur, tire encore sur le blason classique de 40cm de diamètre.

Arc classique ou arc à poulies, ici en salle on est à 18 mètres de sa cible.
Difficile de prendre de bonnes photos pendant les tirs. Biensur le flash est interdit pour ne pas perturber les archers et évidemment se mettre en face d'eux relève du suicide =D

2 séries de 10 volées de 3 flèches , avec en moyenne 2 minutes par volée (temps réglementaire) ...le qualificatif a pris une bonne partie de la journée avant de passer aux phases finales,  les duels, pour déterminer les champions départementaux de chaque catégorie !
Un weekend vraiment bien rempli...

...pour un très beau sport.
La prochaine fois on parlera quand même broderie =)

As I told you my last weekend have been very busy, and today I'm sharing with you one of my other hobby...Archery =D
I have been belonging to Les Compagnons du Tir à l'Arc for 20 years now !
I 'met' my first bow during a trip to Canada and at my return began a great story =)
I love this beautiful sport even if for health reasons I had to stop 8 years ago and never came back to it. I always belonged to the life of the club as the secretary and made great friendships.

Things changed a bit in 20 years, starting by the target. It's now what we call a trispot (don't know how it is named in English...) but it's only the central zones of a usual target (points from 1 to 4 usually in the white & black rings are useless in this kind of championship)
Only the Bare Bows (without sight) can shoot on the usual target of 40cm diameter.

Maybe you have good eyes and can see the tinny X in the very inner ring used for the tie-breaking. The closer to the X is the winner =)
For this indoors , archers are at 18 meters from their target. A/B shoot first, then C/D to not have too numerous archers at the same time.
2 successions of 10 ends of 3 arrows. 2 minutes per end...the 2 successions last about 3 hours =)

This was only the qualifying round, after we had the regional championship , the duels, to determine the champion for each category. In the Junior Man Recurved Bow category , Bastien from my club ended first =D

On the first pictures you saw recurved bows, with all the accessories , we are far from the piece of wood with a cord =)

It's difficult to take good pictures of this sport . The light is not too strong , flash is forbidden of course to not disturb the archers and we can just stay behind them =)
But I hope I gave you a good overview of my other hobby...

Sachets senteur

Il me reste des pièces de l'an passé à montrer ici...
Et comme une très ressemblante a été faite et offerte pour noël je profite ... je rattrape mon retard et j'en regroupe 3 =)
Ce sont des petits sachets senteur, prévu pour mettre de la lavande, mais comme les 2 personnes qui les ont reçus en cadeau ne sont pas fan de lavande il y aura autre chose dedans, après tout chacun fait ce qu'il veut avec son cadeau =)

Les 2 premiers étaient pour la maman de Super Moitié cet été.
J'ai récidivé avec la fleur de Digoin, à laquelle j'ai ajouté l'initiale du prénom de Belle Maman :

Il va falloir que je me refasse un petit stock de ce tissu qui suit si bien avec ces fleurs parce que j'ai l'intention de faire quelques pièces pour ma cuisine cette année =)

Le second vient d'une grille dessinée par Maja, de The Snowflower Diaries.
Plusieurs amies sur la blogosphere l'ont brodée et voici ma version de Lavender Girl sur du lin violet

Mon premier essai avec des perles à la place des points et ma foi...je suis assez satisfaite =)
De plus ils ont tous deux fait très plaisir, même que l'on m'a dit plusieurs fois que je devrais les vendre ...qui sait...un jour peut être....!
Pour l'instant je veux juste faire plaisir et me faire plaisir...

Le troisième sachet (qui au final semble finir en pochette pour téléphone =D ) a été fait pour ma Grand Mère à noël.
Une petite grille gratuite trouvée au détour du net mais dont je ne retrouve pas la provenance :-/

Je prépare mes petites pièces pour l'étagère de saison et le printemps, et puis le projet secret pour le bébé de Nia qui sera là d'ici un gros mois maintenant...
Mais ce weekend pas de croix c'est certain, championnat départemental au club de tir à l'arc qui risque de me prendre beaucoup de temps et d'énergie...
Mais pas grave, je reviens vite quand même =)

I still have pieces from 2013 to show here ! 
So today I'll catch up and gather 3 pieces ...one of my good resolutions for this year was to update more often here wasn't it ? =D
Last summer I made 2 scented bags for Hubby's mum.
I chose another Fleur de Digoin (by the way...did someone see a plate with this flower hanged on the wall behind Lady Violet in Downtown Abbey ?? I did !! =D ) , a flower then, to which I added the first letter of my MIL's name :

The second bag I made her was with a design from Maja at the Snowflower Diaries 
Lavender Girl that you may have seen here and there on the blogosphere , but here is my version on purple linen and finished as a scented bag =)

First attempt at beading ! I'm happy with the result and have to try this again.
My MIL was very happy, even if she doesn't like lavender either and that she will put something else inside =)
Everybody does what he wants with a gift...
This is how the scented bag hereunder, that I made for my Grand Mother as her Christmas gift, ended as a pocket for her phone =D
I found this freebie on the web long ago, but can't find where right now :-/
I'll search in case someone would like the chart...

I'm now preparing pieces for the seasonal shelf and Spring (you're going to see designs from Maja again...) but obviously , this weekend I won't touch a needle !
I'm organising with my archery club a championship that is going to take all my time and energy...but anyway, I'll be back soon, why not with pictures of the championship =)

Encore des cadeaux....

Noël est reparti dans ses cartons au grenier et va patiemment attendre de revenir l'année prochaine =)
Mais la boite aux lettres, elle,  a continué de se remplir...
Mon échange de Noël avec les fans de Margaret Sherry est (enfin) arrivé...
Enfin parce qu'il aura mis presque un mois  pour venir frapper à la porte, je pensais même que mon Père Noël secret était à l'autre bout du globe...mais pas du tout puisqu'il était en fait en Allemagne !
Voilà donc ce que j'ai reçu de Judith :

Et puis les petits cadeaux qui vont avec
Un très gros merci encore à Judith. Un cadeau même quand il arrive après la date ça fait toujours plaisir =D

Des vœux sont aussi arrivés d'Australie,  de la part de Noni, accompagnés par un superbe marque page en dentelle que son mari, Mark a fait tout spécialement pour moi =)

N'est ce pas qu'il est superbe ? et tout spécialement pour moi ? =)

Et puisqu'on parle de marque page...j'en avais fait un pour offrir à Noël , pour un fan de BD mais surtout de Tintin... mon parrain  =)

Tout le monde aura surement reconnu la fameuse fusée d'On a marché sur la lune

Christmas is now finished, the decorations have gone back in their cardboards (except the seasonal shelf one...it is still winter....) and will patiently wait until next Christmas...
But Mister postman kept continued to be busy and haven't worn off his Santa's costume yet =D
I finally received my Xmas exchange organised on the Margaret Sherry lovers blog....
I say finally because we don't know why it took so long to arrive here as it was 'only' coming from Germany ! 
Another mystery of the post offices !
Anyway, I was very happy to receive this parcel and to open each little wrapping =)
Judith spoiled me with many beautiful goodies and this wonderful stitched piece that she finished as a beautiful basket  

Thank you so much once again Judith.
A gift even after the date is always a great occasion to do a happy dance =)

I also received wishes from Australia, from sweet Noni and her husband Mark
He made me this amazing lace bookmark 

Isn't it amazing ? perfect and just for me
Thank you so much again to you both, I really love my Book'Mark' and now I really have to read a book this year =)

As we are speaking about bookmarks, let me show you the one I did for my Godfather as his Xmas gift.
He is a great fan of comics and especially Tintin (just like me, I'm a great fan of Captain Haddock, I don't like comics but Tintin is an exception =D Such an exception that I even have them in English...)

 
Those who know Tintin surely recognise the famous rocket from Explorers on the moon on the first picture.
Here is the  confirmation =)

Un porte cléfs estival

Tout d'abord , comme je ne suis pas venue ici depuis le début d'année (méchante et bien connue en cette saison G....O...) je souhaite à tout le monde une très bonne année 2014.


La dernière fois j'avais parlé du diagramme voyageur , le tirage au sort a été fait hier soir mais avant de savoir où il va repartir...voici la broderie terminée :

Summer Garden donc, de Little House Needleworks dans des couleurs que nous avons choisies 'estivales' =)
Il y a normalement une bordure brodée, mais la chose dans laquelle cette pièce a fini étant trop petite, je n'ai pas pu la faire...pas bien grave :)
Quelle est donc cette chose ?
Il nous manquait au garage un porte clefs pour les clefs de la boite aux lettres, l'abri de jardin, l'abri à gaz....

Un peu de peinture, le talent de Super Moitié , une petite souris cherchant après son morceau de fromage perdu.... (que de mise en scène pour un simple porte clefs =D )
Et voilà :

Exactement ce qu'on voulait et un diagramme voyageur bien logé =)
Plus question maintenant de chercher après les clefs....

J'ai l'impression de déjà en retard, à montrer des pièces finies l'année dernière et d'autres déjà faites en ce début d'année...mais on a tout le temps !
Une bonne résolution pour cette année ?
Peut être essayer de faire des mises à jour plus fréquentes ici... =D

As I didn't come here since 2014 has started (too well known seasonal intestinal virus that tired me soooo much...) I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year.
May 2014 bring you whatever makes you smile and happy, health (not a good start for me !) and lot's of stitches & craft =D
As you can see just above, 2 cards arrived to wish me a Merry Christmas and even if they arrived a bit after Christmas I was really happy to open them. 
Thank you Simone and Amber for your beautiful cards and words (have a look at the seasonal Canadian stamping, excellent)

So as you saw it, I finished the travelling pattern.
We chose summer colours. 
As we needed a key holder in the garage for the 'outside' keys (letter box, garden shed, bottled gas shed...) when we saw this one we immediately bought it ! And the travelling pattern was finally perfect to enter it !
Super Half painted it, added this cute mouse searching her lost piece of cheese....

What a staging for a simple key holder =D






The space for the stitched piece was a little bit smaller than the finished size so I couldn't stitch the border but I think it's a not a real problem =)

I love it, and now, it's impossible to wonder 'where are the keys' ? =)

Pour nous il aura été très bon, trop court comme toujours...
Au pied du sapin beaucoup de cadeaux, mais avant de parler des cadeaux 'fait main' offerts pour l'occasion...les cadeaux reçus

Père Noël est d'abord arrivé des États Unis
Carol m'a envoyé ce diagramme de Lizzie Kate, des aiguilles à broder et un petit ruban de saison

Un des 12 de la série Jingles ... il va falloir se retenir de ne pas craquer sur les autres maintenant =)

L'an prochain sur l'étagère de saison il y aura pour sûr cette petite déco !

Père noël a ensuite fait un détour par l’Italie. et quel détour !! Je ne vais surement pas lui en vouloir !

I hope everybody had a great Christmas ... here we had =)
It has been a too short day as usual , but we had a great family time and I have been spoiled !
Before speaking of the hand made gifts offered that very day, I want to show you what still arrived in the letter box =)

Santa made a detour by the USA and brought me a beautiful card from Carol , together with needles, a lovely ribbon and...a chart from Lizzie Kate
Can't you see my happy face from where you are ? =D 
It's one of the 12 'Jingles' and now...it will be difficult to not succumb to the 11 others =)
Thank you so very much again Carol for this beautiful gift you made me.
For sure, next Winter there will be another cute ornie on the seasonal shelf ...

Then Santa made a detour by Italy. And what a detour again !

Joyeux Noël

Vive le vent, vive le vent , vive le vent d'hiver...
Vraiment de saison !!!
Cette tempête est est bien là, depuis hier soir mais heureusement à part une tuile de dégagée et le trampoline des voisins qui s'est écrasé dans le jardin rien de bien méchant à signaler pour le moment....
Dernier post avant Noël donc pour vous montrer ce que j'ai fait et envoyé à Julie pour l'échange de noël sur le blog des fans de Margaret Sherry .

Des petites souris provenant du livret offert avec le numéro 184 de Cross Stitch Crazy =D
Le but étant de faire une décoration de sapin, un peu de feutrine, de la cordelette, des grelots....

et hop hop hop , un ornement pour le sapin...version 'notre équipe' , merci encore Super Moitié =D
Associé à quelques cadeaux , le paquet est bien arrivé et a fait très plaisir....
Je n'ai pas encore reçu le paquet envoyé par mon père noël secret , mais je sais que ça me fera plaisir quand même , même après Noël =)
Prochain échange surement au printemps.

'Jingle Bells' translated in French is a song speaking about the winter wind...!
And we definitely have the wind !!!
What a tempest we are having ! For the moment only tiles felt from the roof and strange objects coming from the neighbourhood (understand a big trampoline !) landed in the garden...but for the moment nothing too bad to be declared here  !
Only a very short night....

So a last post before Christmas to show you what I made for Julie , for the Xmas exchange on the Margaret Sherry lovers blog.
I chose mice (of course...) from the free booklet 'Xmas Cuties'  that came with the issue 184 of Cross Stitch Crazy.
Just as for the moose last time... thick felt, ribbon, bells...and here is a little ornament =)

Once again thank you so much to Super Half for this little cute ornament he made =)
I only stitched the mice ! He did the rest...
I added some goodies of course, the whole reached Julie very quickly and she was very happy, so I was too =)

I still haven't received the parcel from my secret Santa, but I'm sure I'll have a happy dance even after Christmas =D

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I do my best to come back before next year

Noël Noël

Alors que Noël se rapproche de plus en plus , on s'attend à une tempête dans les heures qui viennent..
Le vent commence a bien monter déjà...et j'aurai vraiment préféré un noël blanc !
Quoiqu'il en soit, c'est tout de même le moment de montrer quelques croix, les miennes mais aussi des croix reçues en cadeau =)

Tout d'abord une petite déco de sapin réalisée pour Angel.

A broder beaucoup de chouettes elles vont bien finir par me porter chance !

Et puis une fois de plus le facteur s'est transformé en père Noël et m'a apporté de jolis cadeaux 
Il est gentil ce facteur =D
D'abord des jolis diagrammes de Little House Needleworks reçus de la part de Nia
Ils ont tous deux rejoint ma liste des 'à faire' pour 2014.... Merci beaucoup Nia =)

Et c'est aussi Rita qui m'a gâtée.
Un superbe paquet est arrivé, entièrement fait main ! la boite en carton et la carte !

On n'a presque pas envie d'ouvrir tellement c'est beau =)
Mais la curiosité l'a très vite emporté....
Encore mille mercis Rita pour ce très joli cadeau

Cette très jolie décoration a rejoint les petites pièces dans l'entrée, sur mon étagère qui est maintenant bien remplie (c'est la dernière photo tout en bas =D)
J'ai aussi terminé ma dernière partie de la SAL avec Annette et Nia, la quatrième.

Un vrai plaisir cette SAL. ça ne devrait normalement pas me manquer puisque nous sommes déjà en train de penser à une nouvelle pour l'an prochain =D
Je n'ai malheureusement pas eu le temps de faire le montage que je voulais avant Noël mais ce sera prêt pour le prochain hiver...

Hello my dear friends =)
I hope everybody is fine and not in a hurry with Christmas approaching...
Here we definitely won't have a white Christmas. I would have preferred ! 
Instead of snow we are now preparing for a tempest, winds are forecast at about 140km/h  and they said on TV that's going to be terrible :-/
Let's cross fingers nothing bad happens.
Staying warm with a cup of coffee it's time to show you some stitches =)
Here above, the last part of my SAL with Nia & Annette.  It has been lot's of fun and we are already thinking at another one for next year =D
Unfortunately I didn't find the time to make the finish I wanted before Xmas, but I'll do it soon and it will be ready for next winter.

I finished it as a small ornament that went to Angel.
It seems I made the good choice as Angel loves owls =D
Stitching so many owls will surely end by bringing me some luck =)

Then Mister Postman wore his Santa's costume again and brought me beautiful things.

They are both on my to-do list for next year =)
