La Fée bleue

La chaleur écrasante de ces derniers jours a eu raison de moi et de mes mises à jour par ici....
Mais avant que ne commence vraiment la journée la plus chaude de l'année semble t-il, un petit post pour dévoiler le cadeau d'anniversaire de Nia =)
La grille m'a été offerte par une amie du groupe français, sachant que j'aimais les papillons et le violet (Elle est de LanSvit, et si au début on ne la trouvait que sur des sites Russes ou Ukrainiens on la trouve maintenant sur des sites Européens , comme celui ci (allez jeter un œil à sa couleur originale...)  avec des explications en Anglais ce qui est quand même plus simple ! =D  )
J'ai craqué pour cette petit fée donc, mais Nia aimant le bleu, Super Moitié m'a aidée à la passer en bleu et voilà le résultat

J'ai une fois de plus choisi du lin, bleu ciel, et si la grille était notée 'expert' c'était pas pour rien =)
Il y a des tas de points plus bizarres les uns que les autres mais finalement je m'en suis bien sortie !

 Trop grand pour une trousse ou un pochon je l'ai terminée en housse de coussin , avec un tissu à pois comme Nia les affectionne =)
Sur la branche normalement il y a une fleur brodée , mais une fois de plus l'aide de Super Moitié a été fortement appréciée et la broderie a été remplacée par un petit bouton peint
Le petit détour ici vaut le coup d’œil aussi, certains d'entre vous le savent déjà mais je l'ai contaminé...... =D

Il ne reste plus qu'à espérer que le bébé qu’attend Nia sera une petite fille, ce coussin serait parfait dans une chambre de petite Fée , surtout avec les petites Fées en feutrine de Tati Annette =)
Elles sont superbes...
J'ai pas mal de pièces terminées à partager ... pourvu que les températures soient plus clémentes très vite =)

We had terrible hot days this July (that is already finished !!!) 
I must admit that I'm not a heat lover at all...then I lived in my grotto... and I'm late on many things !
First I want to welcome my new followers here
Wow, 81 this morning, I'm so happy =)
Many of you already saw this piece on Nia's blog (by the way, thank you for the very lovely comments you left on her post =D they made me blush !) 
Here is then my birthday gift for her.
I have been offered the chart by a friend who knows I'm a great butterfly and purple lover. Indeed, initially this piece is purple and pink but as Nia is a blue fan...Super Hubby helped me in changing the colours (and there are so many !!!) 
This fairy is from LanSvit , so many cute design from this designer ! 
I first only found them on Russian selling websites, with surely impossible charts to be read...but now LanSvit is in English and I found some here on this Irish site (Angel...you wanted to know where to find her =D)  
There's a blue fairy in the collection but no, I wanted this one...but in blue =D

Crazy stitches on this piece !
Fortunately I had the good idea to chose linen and not Aida ! 1/2 stitches, 1/3 stitches...even 1/4 stitches, French Knots ! I thought sometimes I was about to drive mad !
But as I said to Nia, when we love whe are able of crazy things =D
The result is lovely don't you find ? 
It was too big for a pouch (zipped or not) so I made a pillow case., with a fabric with polka dots of course ... it was for Nia =D
You saw on one of the pictures above, that initially there was a stitched flower, but we replaced it by a small button that Super Hubby painted =D
I contaminated him, he now has his blog, he is able to do incredible things !!!!! But you knew this already =D
Sometimes (often) it's a very different style from what we do of course, but have a look.... =)

I first thought of a star in her hair too but it would have been too many buttons =)
May I say I'm proud of this piece ? =D
Really, I was myself amazed by the result when I started the backstitch !
Let's hope Baby Nia will be a little girl, this pillow would be perfect in a Fairy bedroom , with the felt Fairies Auntie Annette made =D
I have many other pieces to share with you...let's hope the temperatures will allow me to live outside my grotto hehehehe =D

Do Brasil e Para Brasil

La poste est pleine de mystères =)
Début juin j'envoyais à Simone une petite enveloppe pour son anniversaire (mi juillet) ... car la poste au Brésil est un subtile mélange entre une moule et un escargot =D
Il fallait s'y prendre à l'avance pour être certaine d'être dans les temps et finalement je détiens le record du monde du paquet arrivé le plus vite puisqu'à peine 10 jours plus tard (contre les presque 2 mois habituels...) mon cadeau était déjà arrivé !

J'avais décidé de faire 'Français' et pour la broderie c'est une grille gratuite des Brodeuses Parisiennes, Paris en fleurs que j'ai choisie.
J'ai trouvé du tissu avec la Tour Eiffel et quelques fleurs rapprochant du motif brodé... et hop hop hop une petite trousse =D
Bon d'abord l'arrière pour vous montrer le tissu ....

Le plus marrant dans l'histoire c'est que posté presque 2 mois auparavant, Simone m'avait envoyé un petit quelque chose elle aussi et son enveloppe est arrivée ici la veille de son anniversaire =)
Quand je vous dis que le Brésil c'est terrible....
Encore merci beaucoup pour cette jolie carte et ce napperon entièrement fait main tous les 2 !

Il va falloir que je sorte les crochets pour de bon et que j'essaye de m'y remettre ! ça doit être comme le vélo, on n'oublie pas...

Postal services are sometimes full of mysteries !
Beginning of June, I posted to Simone a little something for her birthday that was only last week...
I had to forecast, because Brazilian post is something like the hybridisation between a snail and a mussel =D
Usually it takes more than one month to reach the recipient and this time...only 10 days !!! wow, what a surprise when Simone told me it had already arrived ! But she of course had to wait to open it hehehe =D

I decided to make her a 'French' parcel, that's why I chose this free chart by Les Brodeuses Parisiennes, Paris in flowers...
I found a fabric with the Eiffel Tower and some flowers almost looking like the one I had stitched, and finished it as zipped pouch :)
I added some buttons & charms , a bow to remind the one also stitched ... and voilà ...

 The funniest thing is this story (except the fact you're maybe trying to imagine to what can look like an hybridisation between a mussel and a snail... =D) is that Simone also sent me a gift more than one month before and that it arrived in my letter box just the day before her birthday =D

Vive les mariés

La semaine dernière à cette heure ci , on préparait la salle...et sérieusement on avait plus chaud !
Le soleil et l'été se sont pris une journée de vacances il semblerait...
Toujours est il que pour le mariage de mon amie samedi dernier, j'avais donc fait le coussin à alliances que voici que voilà...
Le cœur 'Arums et papillons' de chez Princesse

Le thème du mariage c'était les papillons et les couleurs vert anis et marron chocolat... c'est pourquoi le cœur, initialement rose à la base, est passé en marron ... et puis j'ai préféré le lin blanc à l'aïda crème du kit...!

Quand même plus joli...
Le tout a eu son effet, et devrait terminer sous peu , rembourrage en moins biensur , en cadre  souvenir =)

Je vous laisse sur la photo des serviettes en papier que j'avais pliées pour l'occasion (presque 80) ... en forme de papillons biensur ...
Bon weekend du 14 juillet pour les amis français , en espérant que le soleil remontre le bout de son nez ici !

Last week, at the very same hour, we were preparing the reception room for my friend's wedding.
The weather was really hotter as it seems that today, Summer has taken one day of vacation !
I hope it'll only be one day !
We had a terrible hot weather for the wedding and had a wonderful time, my friend was over the moon, living the day of her life as she had imagined it !

As I told you, I made her the ring bearer pillow...
Here is it then, a design from Princesse, 'Heart with butterflies and arums' , with the backing fabric

The theme of her wedding was butterflies =)
And colours anise green and chocolate brown. That's why I changed the colours of the heart which was initially pink... and I didn't used the aïda from the kit but chose a white linen. 
I found it was sweeter, as the aïda was cream ! Definitely not 'wedding' =)
You can also see the napkins I folded for the occasion... butterflies of course as she wanted...
3 only over the 80 I made =)
Believe me, now I'm fast at folding napkins in a butterfly shape...

My friend was very happy with the pillow, and she wants to frame it , in memory of that special day 
What a good idea I find...

It's our national day this weekend... 
I hope sun will come back or at least that rain won't come... because I love fireworks and we can see so beautiful one on the 14th of July  =)

Fleur de Digoin

Il y a quelques années, quand je me suis 'installée', ma grand mère m'a donné de vieilles assiettes à elle, avec des fleurs de Digoin. (désolée les cousines ... c'est moi la plus vieille =D)
Depuis j'ai un peu agrémenté ma collection de vaisselle estampillée de cette fleur, et j'ai pour elle une affection toute particulière je l'avoue.
Aussi quand l'échange avec le groupe français sur le thème des fleurs a pointé son nez, la fleur de Digoin m'a paru être une évidence =)

Je suis toujours impressionnée par les grilles qui n'ont aucun point arrière, où seulement le mélange des fils donne toute sa dimension au sujet =)
Encore une broderie que j'ai failli garder...
Comme j'ai déjà échangé plusieurs fois avec ma partenaire et que je lui ai déjà fait un petit pochon et un petit coussin...j'ai choisi l'option livret à épingles pour changer.
J'ai trouvé par hasard le tissu Liberty qui semblait fait pour cette fleur !

Ressemblant non ? =)
Aucun ajout, ni ruban ni bouton...juste quelques pages en feutrine à l'intérieur.
Je le dis à chaque fois, mais de la fleur de Digoin...il va vraiment falloir que j'en borde pour moi...!
Il y en a tellement de différentes... et ce serait parfait dans ma cusine =)

J'ai aussi eu la chance de gagner un petit concours sur le blog de Bruna visant à trouver un nom pour sa machine à coudre...qui a donc été baptisée Coco ... comme Coco Chanel. 
Merci beaucoup Bruna pour ces cadeaux reçus la semaine dernière.
Je vais vite attaquer le Summer Iris que j'aime beaucoup.

Ce weekend c'est mariage ... espérons que le temps se remette ... et puis je reviens bientôt vous montrer le coussin à alliances

Some years ago, when I got my first home...my Grandmother gave me old plates of hers, with the famous Fleur de Digoin on them.
Since then I bought  other crockery with this flower, for which I must admit, I have a special affection.
(surely because I saw those plates very often at my Grandma's home...and that they are linked to her)
So when our French group decided on an exchange on the theme of 'flowers', it was evident to me to stitch a Digoin flower...

I really love those designs with no backstitch, when only the perfect association of colours gives life to the subject...
I had difficulties to post the parcel  I can tell you =)
I know I say this very often but I really have to stitch some of this flower again for me, there are so many different one !
As I already made 2 exchanges with my partner and that she already received from me a pouch and a pillow...I chose to sew a needlebook.
Just sewed felt pages inside and added nothing, no ribbon, no button..I found it perfect this way, with this fabric I had and that has surely been made for this flower !
It's a Liberty one.
Don't you find embroidery and crockery are very similar ? =D

 I'm in love and I hope my partner will enjoy her gift.
Speaking about gift, I won a giveaway on Bruna's blog some weeks ago =)
Lucky me. Bruna wanted to find a name for her sewing machine and it has been christened Coco , like Coco Chanel =)
I received lovely gifts from Bruna, obrigada again sweetie, I so love everything !  You made me very happy.
The ribbon meter is so funny. 
I will soon start Summer Iris,  I really love this design. I'll surely offer it to one of you as soon as I have finished it, I can't keep such a cute design for me alone ... so watch this space =)

I hope the weather will improve for the wedding next Saturday ! It's raining cats and dogs, and it's so windy  ! 
Definitely Summer is not with us !!

Pour la première fois l'aigle baissait la tête...

... Hier la grande armée, et maintenant troupeau. (Victor Hugo - L'expiation)

Autant la dernière fois au château de Leeds nous avons eu une journée on ne peut plus médiévale...autant ce samedi nous avons été plongés au 18 juin 1815...comme si nous étions rentrés dans un tableau ou mieux...comme si 'eux' en étaient sortis !

Depuis le temps qu'on se disait d'y aller, de ne pas manquer ça...cette année on s'est pris en mains et samedi direction Waterloo  pour la reconstitution des bivouacs Napoléoniens et celle de la fameuse bataille !

Et quelle journée !

Même si le temps n'a pas été trop avec nous, tout pouvait s'arrêter là maintenant (private joke) le déplacement était largement récompensé et tout était si impressionnant de vérité ! 

Réellement comme si le tableau avait pris vie et que nous y avions été conviés ! 

Le sentiment est difficile à retranscrire par de 'simples' images, mais les odeurs, les bruits, l'ambiance...et l'empereur....!!!

Bon sang ! Aussi impressionnée que si c'était le vrai =)

J'ai toujours beaucoup aimé l'époque Napoléonienne, mon tableau préféré aura toujours été Le sacre de Napoléon de David, et puis oui j'avoue j'aime le personnage, son histoire , tout ce qui tourne autour...alors pouvoir le voir de si près comme on peut approcher son idole lors d'un concert...grandiose isn't it ?  =D

Nous sommes restés près de 3 heures dans le bivouac français avant de gagner celui de Wellington et des alliés 4 kilomètres plus loin...en passant biensur par la fameuse butte du lion et ses 226 marches que nous avons grimpées ! Journée sportive s'il en est =)

 Mais même si déjà la journée avait été extraordinaire, le pompon fut le soir ! 

A l'heure de la bataille je m'attendais à quelque chose genre son et lumière mais rien du tout ! =)

'Juste' les soldats (600 contre plus de 180 000 le jour J !) , les tambours, les fifres et les cornemuses...et puis les canons, les mousquets, les cris.... ! Impressionnant !

On y était, on retenait son souffle...même en sachant l'issue de la bataille =)

2 heures de vrai spectacle superbe, même sous la pluie !

Du jamais vu, vraiment et je suis plus qu'heureuse d'avoir pu participer....

Une fois de plus le choix des photos a été une torture =)

Il y en a tellement , et de très belles...!

Mais déjà, c'est un bon aperçu de la journée passée , sans traverser la Manche pour une fois (lui qui aurait tant aimé =D)

" For the first time the eagle lowered its head (...) Yesterday La Grande Armée and now the flock of something " Victor Hugo - The Expiation

Some weeks ago , when we visited Leeds castle , you saw here that we had a very medieval time ...

This last Saturday, we turned back the clock again and have been July the 18th year 1815 for the whole day , as if we had entered the painting or best..as if 'they' had come out of it !

For years we said that we really should go to the reconstruction of the famous battle and this year we did !!! 

We went to Waterloo for the Napoleonic bivouacs.

And what a day ! Ho my ! the time of my life !

Really as if the painting had turned to life and that we were there, we, strangers in jeans and sweatshirts !

The odours, the costumes, the everyday life... each detail was so realistic ! 

And the Emperor ! Ho my !

 I must admit I'm a real lover of that period of my History, I'm more or less fascinated by the Person, but also by everything that turns around him ... and being able to see 'him' so closely, as if I was seeing one of my favourite singer at the end of a concert ... Valma was over the moon ! =D

It's difficult to express how I felt !

Maybe I was impressed , or whatever the feeling was I was truly happy ! (I know, I have a great bag hehehehe =D)

We stayed about 3 hours in the French bivouac, before joining the Wellington one, 4km further !! 

With a stop at the famous Lion mound with its 226 steps that we climbed !

Sporty Saturday isn't it ? =)

The whole day had already been amazing, but what we saw in the evening left us breathless even if we knew how it was going to end !

I first thought that the reconstruction of the battle would be something with lights and musics you see, but not at all !!! 

A real battle ! With 'only' the soldiers (600 against more than 180 000 on the D day ! ) , bagpipes, drums, fifes, shouts, cannons, weapons....more than 2 hours of an incredible show !

We can see the rain on the second one just below =)

To choose pictures has once again been a real dilemma ! Hubby and I did so many shots ! And too many are so beautiful...but I can't fed up everybody with toooooo many pictures and it's a good sum up of what we saw and lived =)

I really have been over the moon for the whole day, without crossing the Channel this time (He so wanted it =D)

Petit pochon au papillon

Tout le monde sait ou presque, que June est une grande fan des papillons =)
Quand j'ai reçu le numéro 201 de The World of Cross Stitching j'ai tout de suite su ce que j'allais broder pour son anniversaire la semaine dernière...
A l'origine dans les tons violets et accompagné d'un énorme bouquet de fleur, j'ai choisi de faire uniquement le papillon et dans les couleurs bleues comme June aime...

Les couleurs ont surtout été choisies en rapport avec le tissu que j'avais décidé d'utiliser pour faire une petite trousse.
Petite trousse qui s'est finalement révélée être un petit pochon, parce que quand ça veut pas ça veut pas, cette fois là je n'ai jamais réussi à faire quelque chose de correct avec la fermeture éclair !
Mais bon, le résultat était tout de même convaincant et June a aimé, c'est le principal....
Et admettons le, c'est toujours utile un petit pochon =)

J'aime beaucoup l'aspect dentelle des ailes , un régal à faire sur de l'aida en plus =)
La broderie pour le coussin de mariage est maintenant terminée, ne reste plus que le montage à faire
Et puis il faut commencer l'échange d'été pour le blog des fans de Margaret Sherry et cette fois ci direction la Malaisie =)
Une première pour moi...

Everybody knows here how June loves butterflies
When I received the issue #201 of TWOCS I immediately knew what I would stitch for her birthday last week =)
Initially the butterfly was purple and yellow and with flowers at his back...but I just stitched the butterfly and chose the blue colour as June also loves blue.
I had this fabric in my stash and asked Super Half to choose colours corresponding at most with it...
And I must admit that once again he has been very helpful and good at his task =D
(I'm not gifted at that game !)
I really enjoyed doing the wings , it looks like lace, and on aïda it has been very pleasant to do...

I first wanted to do a zipped purse, but don't ask why, the day I sewed it I NEVER succeeded to do something beautiful ! really... 
I had to throw everything away ,except the stitching, and finished it as a little bag instead.
Sorry June, I'll be better next year !
But a bag is always useful  isn't it ? =)

I have to start my summer exchange for the MS lovers blog now, and this time my stitches will fly to Malaysia, a first =D

Un mouton...une trousse...et une SAL

Début du mois c'était l'anniversaire de Mii
Chaque fois que je fais une trousse Mii se révèle une grande fan, alors j'ai sauté sur cette occasion pour lui en faire une =)
J'ai choisi une grille de chez Tralala, un des moutons de saison, et plus particulièrement celui de printemps

La photo n'est pas très révélatrice, mais c'est de la toile Aïda rose clair....
Et le blanc ne ressort pas du tout, mais ce n'est que sur les photos =)
Les grilles de chez Tralala sont définitivement très agréables à faire.

Il ne reste plus qu'à broder les 3 autres =)
Mais la priorité est donnée à un coussin à  alliances pour le mariage d'une amie début juillet...

J'en profite aussi pour vous montrer la seconde partie de ma SAL avec Nia et Annette...
Le délai était fin juin, alors je suis dans les temps =)
Normalement il y a le mot Joy (joie) de brodé après les notes de musique, mais comme j'ai l'intention de faire un montage avec joyeux noël en 4 langues, je trouvais que ça aurait fait beaucoup d'écritures...

Beginning of the month it was Mii's birthday 
As each time I make a zipped pouch Mii is a great fan, I profited by the occasion to make her one =)
I chose a design from Tralala I had in my stash (and have been wanting to stitch for long...Noni, Kaye...does it ring a bell hehehe ? =D ) which is one of 4 seasonal sheep and more precisely the Spring one.
It's not very obvious on the pictures but I stitched it on a light pink Aïda...
We can't really see the white threads either but it's only on the pictures

I really enjoy stitching Tralala designs.  They are very quick and easy.
I have to stitch the 3 others sheep =)
But before, I have to finish a ring bearer pillow for one of my friend's wedding beginning of July.
I'll be her best girl, a first for me =)

As you can see, I also finished the second part of our SAL with Nia and Annette =)
Nia  finished it too, Petite Anne...2 weeks left =D 
On the initial design there's the word 'Joy' stitched just besides the musical notes. 
But I didn't stitched it. As my project is to finish the 4 designs with Merry Xmas stitched in 4 languages, I thought it would be too much writings...
